The year 2000 was Albury High School's eightieth year. The anniversary was marked by a celebration in March organised by former students in conjunction with the school. This event was largely attended by those associated with the school in its first fifty years. The school retains the affection of its former students and the deep respect of the Albury Wodonga community. Centrally located in Albury, the school has two heritage buildings as its most conspicuous feature, ample grounds, and sufficient functional buildings to provide a very broad curriculum. There is ready access to learning areas and facilities, within and beyond the school, including TAFE and the local university. The covered walkways among the school buildings characterise the developments planned by the School Council and carried out by the Albury High School PandC. Features of the School include: Steady enrolment, with strong retention rates, ensures stability in staffing to maintain a notably broad academic curriculum; Illustrative of the extensive curriculum, the school offers an average of ten courses on each of three elective lines in Years 9 and 10; and an average of nine courses on each of the four lines additional to the lines offering English and mathematics; the experience of the staff is shown by the fact that thirty-five teachers have been awarded certificates in recognition of at least twenty years service to the NSW Department of Education and Training; as former students attest, developments over time have not diminished the public view that the school continues to balance the development of individual excellence with social responsibility; the school celebrates the progress, efforts and achievements of its students by an established pattern of ceremonies.
