Alexandria Park Community School is a dual campus, co-educational Kindergarten-12 school with an enrolment of 405 students. Approximately 50% of the students are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. The school was created as a result of the amalgamation of Redfern, Waterloo, Alexandria Public Schools and Cleveland Street High School. The school has established a middle school structure Years 5-8 and has Opportunity Classes for academically gifted and talented children in years 5 and 6 and Selective Classes for academically gifted and talented children in Year 7. The curriculum structure of the school is organised by Stages and each stage is supervised by a Stage Manager. Enrolments at Alexandria Park Community School have increased steadily since the school's inception. An inter-agency pilot program jointly funded by the Department of Education and Training, Department of Community Services and Department of Health is based at he school. The program plans and integrates service delivery to families with childern 0-5 years. A Sports Development project funded by the Redfern-Waterloo Authority operates at the school. The school has also established close links with the University of Technology and recently formalised these links through a Memorandum of Understanding. The school receives funding under the Priority School Funding Program.
