Welcome Athens rappers!
The Olympic action is about to begin and I understand that we have many excited rappers ready to make a speedy start off the starting blocks to write their introductory messages.
The important tasks you will need to do this week include sending a short, introductory message about your class or group to the rap. In order to prepare the message, discuss the information that you would like to include in your class introductory message. You may like to include some information about your local area, the location of your school and what you are most looking forward to during the games.
Send the message to the rap when your teacher has approved the final text.
After reading other schools' introductions, your class may wish to record the locations of these schools on a printed rap map (Go to- http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/schoollibraries/teaching/raps/athens/welcome.htm
then click on 'rap maps').
Here is a checklist that may help you with your rapping this week:
1) Send your classes introductory message to the rap.
2) Read the introductory messages from the other rappers (try to check your email daily so you can keep 'on top' of things).
3) You may like to choose a rap reporter from your class to relay the introductory messages to the rest of the class and a rap rep to type up the responses from your class. Discuss this with your teacher.
