We discovered some amazing facts about the olympics in the library this week.
* The torch was first introduced inthe 1928 Amsterdam games
* Edwin Flack won Australia's first gold medal in the 1896 Athens games for running the 800m and 1500m races.
* Dawn Fraser won gold in the 100m freestyle in three different games.
* Sydneyy 200 was Australia's best medal tally inany olympics.
