Baulkham Hills is the Garden Shire. Through the years our Shire has built up parklands and bushlands for us to enjoy. There is a Heritage Walk which trace the changes in the area. It also organises a council clean up regularly. People in Baulkham Hills Shire and especially at Jasper Road Public School, value the importance of the environment and this is shown in all the changes that have occurred over the years. Our school competes in lots of garden competitions. We have won many awards and prizesfor changes that have been made. We now have a butterfly garden, a bush tucker garden and a Walk and Wheel playground. The Walk and Wheel playground is for our children in wheelchairs so they can enjoy the environment with us. The Arbor group have formed over the years. They take care of the worm farm, recycling, composting, vegetable gardens, plants and litter. This year, the Arbors put up a litter board from which they judge us everyday. Just remember: we depend on the environment and the environment depends on us.
