Hello Rappers
My name is Connie Ah See and I am a Wiradjuri woman from Wellington. I am a mother of one, Nicole who is 24, and a grandmother of one, Aniesha, who is 4years. I am the eldest of five children.
In 1993 I started teaching at Wellington Public school on a Year 5 class, I taught there for two years before being asked in 1995 to Co-ordinate the Aboriginal Language program for the Dubbo District Office, I did this for two years. I then went back to Wellington Public in 1997, again on a Year 5 class. In October 1997 I started work at the Board of Studies, Co-ordinating Aboriginal Languages for the State. In September 1999, I started work here at the Curriculum Support Directorate, as Curriculum Adviser, Aboriginal Studies, I am currently the Senior Curriculum Adviser, and I am the Team Leader of three other people.
In 2000 I was lucky enough to be involved with the, My Girragundji Book Rap. This year I am hoping that we have another successful year with the Book.
This use of technology is a fantastic way of communicating to so many people, in an exciting area of education. I look forward to further discussions with you all real soon.
Regards
Connie
