What we thought the story said to us:

1.The story might mean different things to different people, depending on their background. Aboriginal teenagers may be familiar  with the social environment and problems in the book. The message to them is to acknowledge their spirits and respect their elders and  their experience/wisdom.

2.For Non-Koori readers, the story opens your mind to Aboriginal culture, and experiences of the original owners of the land.

3.Another message is that you should not forget where you came from and to learn about your own culture and history and be  proud of it.

4. Don't get drunk, don't smoke.

Can't wait for your reply, by the students at Dulwich High School.
