Title: Message from Meme and Boori

Hello Rappers

We’ve been reading your messages of introduction and enjoying the thought of being connected up with you in cyberspace.  What an exciting world of possibilities in front of us.

Boori travels to many schools throughout Australia each year to perform and tell stories and talk about his family and culture.  He is sure he recognizes a number of the schools that have logged onto the Rap.  Let us know if you remember him visiting your school.  Once met, never forgotten, he reckons!

Both of us visited a secondary school the other day where a play is being written and performed by international students who study at the school.  The theme of their performance is ‘Belonging’.  The staff and students are establishing an on-going relationship with the traditional owners of the land where their school is situated.  The students are keen to ask the question:  Can those of us who come from other lands belong here?  How do we do that?

We thought this was an interesting question for many Australians.  What do you think?  You might like to add this question to the discussion you have this week.  Do you know the Aboriginal group from the area where you live?

We are looking forward to reading more of your messages.
        Keep on rapping.
        With love
Meme McDonald and Boori Monty Pryor
