 The story is an Aboriginal story because the ideas are based upon Aboriginal culture, religion and beliefs. A cultural theme is the idea of respecting your elder and traditional law.

 

 The Aboriginal characters use words which are not English such as Migaloo, Jalbu, goomi goomi, gulmra and yibulla.

 

Some English words are used in a different way such as “I’m shame”. The family structure of the extended family is different from most Anglo-Saxon families: there are many aunties, uncles and cousins. They always stick together
