Rap Point ONE:

What makes this an Aboriginal book?

There are a lot of Aboriginal words used in the story. There are a lot of
Aboriginal myths as well.

The book Binna Binna Man is about a boy who’s learning a lot about his
culture from his elders as he goes. He is on a quest to find the Gundji
voice, the voice inside him. There are a lot of pictures in the story,
including the front cover. The title of the story sounds Aboriginal as well.

It’s written in the first person, and uses a lot of slang. As well, the
story sounds like someone talking, especially with the use of ‘but’ at the
end of the sentence. Many of the sentences are short, and the vocabulary is
like a young person

What does this book tell me?
It tells us that Aborigines believe in spirits, that they held traditional
ceremonies for special occasions.
