book_week_rap Rap Point 1

Hello from the Crawford Worminaters
This is our first rap point........We liked the book, it has a lot of action and makes you think !!!!
Rap Point 1a
We looked at the pictures and text and thought the book was set in Australia because of the:
*Red Desert *Magpies
*Coolibah Tree *Charred Forrest
*Bush *Hot Weather
*Stringy Bark tree *Salt Pans
*Dusty Plains
Rap Point 1B
The design features that impact on the reader are:
Font: Felt tip or pencil..child like reflecting on animals experience
Pictures: Deserts make you feel in need of survival like animals.
Big Heading: catches your eye..only one word...alone like the fox.
Colours: make you feel warm in some parts and cold in others reflecting the mood of the book.
Rap Point 1c
Some issues and themes are:
Betrayal: the magpie left the dog because she thought the fox would fly faster than the dog. Sometimes our friends betray us
Repentance: the magpie had to walk home alone as a result of his betrayal. We pay for our mistakes.
Trusting your first instinct: The magpie should have trusted what he first thought of the fox. We should choose our friends carefully.
See you next Rap Point !!!
