We are in Yr 6 and are currently attending Maroubra Junction Public School in Sydney. We are in the top reading group. Our school has over 540 students. It is divided into 2 sections, Infants and Primary, 1 on either side of Anzac Parade, a major road in Sydney. Our school has cricket nets, a netball court,a basketball court and playing eqiupment.
The primary section of our school is being renovated so we will have a better and more modern hall, playground and classrooms.
Bob Carr (I'm sure you know who he is) lives just around the corner from our school and visits every now and then to see how things are going. Libby Hathorn who is a well-known children's author attended our school and so did Brett Hawke who is a famous 50m freestyler and swam in the Olympics.
Our school is starting a talented writers' group for 5 talented people. We also have a Yr 9 level maths group for 4 people that are in Yr 6.
Now to the rapping. Our favourite categories are Early Childhood and Picture Books. We especially liked "Dougal the Garbage Dump Bear" and "Where is the Green Sheep?". Not many people have read "At The Beach" but the people who did read it really liked it.
