bookweek05_rap rap1 from HSPA

Dear fellow rappers, Hi from HSPA!

5n got into six groups and each group had 1 of the 6 books. Our group chose Mutt Dog. The book Mutt Dog was a sad story at the start but then turned into a happy ending because he found a home. Mutt Dog had an inward and an outward journey. He learned a lot about himself on his journey to find a new home. Our chosen token is a dog bone charm on a dog collar to show that he has a new home, he’s loved and to show he gets spoiled with food.

By Melissa and Brooke

We chose At the beach.

Our favourite bit is when there was a man wearing a G-string, and the flying mower. The story is an outward journey. Our symbol is a lawn mower riding a surfboard because you can shred though a holiday (both time and money!) but it will always be fun. Our group made up a joke from this.

Q; what does a surfing lawn mower do?

 A: Shreds water! Ha! Ha!

 Perry, Josh and Nathan

Yo Rappers!

I choose Mutt Dog because of the sad journey he had. I think he had an inward and an outward journey. Mutt Dog started off small and scrawny, but then grew when he had found a family. He grew in size because he had good food to eat, but his heart grew as well because he had lots of people to look after him. Tokens for this story could be; a charm bracelet/necklace with a big red love heart with a picture of Mutt Dog in the middle, or, a big picture of the family with Mutt Dog in the middle. My favourite page was where mutt Dog was given all those crazy names, but the family settled on Mutt Dog.

 Keep Rapping!

Hey fellow rappers!

At the beach. The reason we chose this book, is because of the funny pictures in the journey to Crabby Beach. It was very unusual with things that you don’t see every day. The journey was about a girl called Penny  going on a holiday with her family to Crabby Beach It was special to Penny because she had never been there before. We think the tokens for this story would be a crab for Crabby Beach or a smiley sun to represent the happiness of Penny’s holiday.

Bye for now! Ellice and Tory

YoYoYo fellow rappers, this is 5n here from H.S.P.A. our group is made up of three people, Xanthe, Callan and I, Shannon. Callan and I chose Mutt Dog because it had an inward and an outward journey plus we loved the illustrations. Mutt Dog had to survive the busy, lonely city trying to find one scrap of dirty food just to last him the cold night. He would scuttle around the city   to find a warm place to sleep. Then he met a nice family who took him in and cared for him. We decided that our token would be a bowl and a half-way line going down the centre of it. On the left side of the bowl we have is a trash can full of rubbish showing when he was sad, lonely and cold. The right side shows Mutt-dog with his own doggy dish that says “mutt-dog on it. It also shows him being happy and cared for. We chose this because of the affectionate journey in the story and the two differences with loneliness and company and the city and the country. Thanks for your time and KEEP RAPPING!

Sincerely Shannon and Callan.
