bookweek05_rap re bookk rap point 3

Hi bookrappers,

We are a class from Woodlands primary school grade 6 from Woodlands Primary School in Langwarrin Victoria.  We have 3 grade 5 and 6 classes in our school with a total of 28 classes.  There is 680 students from Prep to grade 6.  We have been lloking at and discussing the social issues that have come out of Mutt Dog.  We found that Mutt Dog experienced the same homeless problem that many people in our society experience.  In his casw he didn't have a place to go to when he was hungry and cold, only the half way house that takes in people who are hungry and cold.  We discussed that homeless people could be helped through financial donations that are given to these half way houses and places like the Salvation army.  Also food, clothing and blankets can be donated to places like the opportunity shops and to those people who are directly affected on the streets.  also the need for more accomodation is needed.  Mutt dog showed us how easy it was for stray dogs to be left with no one to care for them.  We all felt it was a need to be loved and belonged and that was the same foe animals.  It was a beautiful story with a happy ending.  It was an interesting point that the lady who helps homeless people now helps homeless dogs.
