Dear Rappers,
A bit late....,but here goes,
In groups we worked on a book and came up with
group responses. Below are two samples.
Lizzie Nonsense
Lizzie has a really extraordinary imagination. She is
going on a journey in life, being left with her Mama
while her Papa takes the sandalwood to town with
his horses. Lizzie and her Mama geet very lonely and
Lizzie imagines different things and her Mama calls her
Lizzie Nonsense. Lizzie lives in an isolated area and she
is brave like her mother.
Lizzie and her Mama love to imagine because they get
lonely living with only the bush all around and they try
to make life more thrilling. Since Mama, Lizzie and baby
live in a deserted place they rely on Papa to tell them
what's happening in town, as no-one comes to visit
and the church is fifty kilometres away.
For our token we chose a horse shoe made of sandalwood
for Lizzie to cherish. We believe that Lizzie should have
this token for when her father travels by horse and cart
to town. She can keep it to remember her Papa with
his horses pulling the sandalwood.
Mutt Dog
Mutt Dog is a dog, who no-one owns, living in the city
and sleeping in different places each night. Mutt Dog is
brown with white spots. Mutt Dog eats from the garbage
because he doesn't have any food. He has to compromise
a lot so he can meet his basic needs. Mutt Dog is vey
lonely and struggles to live each day. Mutt Dog had to face
a lot of abuse from people who thought he was a dirty dog,
who was a nuisance.
The lady, who worked at the Halfway House, helps him for
one night then rejects him.
She has second thoughts and takes him home.His journey gains
him a new house, new owners and a new life!
When he arrives at the house he has his first bath and is tidied up.
Mutt Dog's token is a blanket. The blanket would be a good token
because if he were out on the streets again he would have something
to comfort him and make him feel safe. He could carry it in his mouth.
It would be a nice warm token that would be Mutt Dog's most
prized possession.
