bookweek05_rap rap point 2

Hi from SPB ! We all chose "Are we there Yet" for the rap.
Alison Lester's "Are we there yet?" was chosen by the whole class.

Alison Lester uses a sort of cartoony technique. We all think she uses a felt tip pen to outline all the objects in the book.

On pg 3, the leaf is added on the page to show that it was autumn in the Barossa Valley.
On pg 21, the hands are unexpected but we still know they cut their hands with a knife while carving the walking stick.

On pg 3-4 the picture of the shark is taken up close to show that it is big and scary and the house is taken from far away to show that it is not as important.

On pg 30  the wind blowing on their scarves shows that it is very windy and cold in Victoria.

On pg 26 all the colours are warm and they reflect in the water so it makes the reader feel happy,it is chosen for a celebration.

On the first page the picture of the family is making eye contact with the reader so you would spot that picture first.

On pg 26 the picture is close and important because they are probaly celebrating New Years Eve and it is drawn to our eyes because we know the place well.

On pg 29 the buildings appear as if far away  as if it is a farewell to the city and nearly the journey.

On pg 11 the picture of the cave is in dark colours so it shows that they are nervous. On pg 12 the picture of the trees are light so it shows they are happy.

On pg 10 their hands are erywhere and they are big in the water compared to the rest of the page. Their eyes are also making contact to show us the underwater beauty.

On all pages she chose a format so the whole book is cartoon-like.

You could compare this book to a travel brochure as they are nearly the same and they give infomation aboutthe place.

We all hope to hear from you soon, but bye for now!!!

From class SPBSEE YOU!
