Dear Rappers,

We found lots of differences in the two books we chose.
"Daddy's Having a Horse"
Illustrations
* realistic drawings in water-colour with soft black out lining.
*illustrations take up most of the page & are detailed
*Emma has added horses in many of the scenes in the book till Lachlan realizes
Daddy is not having a horse.
Text
*uses a lot of direct speech between the characters
*uses more complicated words in the sentences

Characters
* interact, share and are more complicated
* no pets

Annie's Chair
Illustrations
the drawings are simple, 70's, trendy-colours are very bright and no shadows and little
shading .
Text
* not much direct speech and Annie says all of it, except one sentence
*simple vocebulary and sentences used
Characters
* Annie is fully focassed on, who is self-centred, but normal for her age group
* Benny, her pet dog, is very important in the story
* There's a moral in this story, that Annie has learnt to share, with Benny's help

The similarity that stood out for us was that both illustrators at the point of a big
problem in the book show the main characters reaction very close up so they
almost take up the whole page or are the only character on the page.
