We studied the family in "Annie's chair" and thought they were a noisy but fairly normal family. It's good that mum can get a chance to read amongst all this chaos and the illustrator shows that she enjoys reading as she looks happy and seems to be comfortable in her squashy chair.
We think we'd be nervous if we were a visitor to Annie's house or even annoyed with all the screaming and might not like to stay there too long, but the picture of Annie's family around the coffee table with the parents having a cup of coffee and dad handing out the biscuits looks like they enjoy each others company.
