bookwk04_rap Rap Point 1 progress

Dear rappers,

We’ve had several thoughtful responses to Rap Point One, and I have really enjoyed seeing the world through the eyes of our animal characters.  I loved the way the 6E rappers at Colyton began their account with “It started as another normal day  - I felt a sense of anticipation right from the beginning.  6E have chosen some effective words and phrases in their description too, like stumbled, self-esteem, gradually happening. I particularly liked your reference to a  magical barrier. You’ve captured my ideas and feelings from the story so well. Terrific work!

Wollondilly rappers have taken us right inside the thinking of a feathered character in Shutting the Chooks In and made me feel relieved that the human in the story cared for his animals. Some great phrases and descriptions here too 4/5C – your hard work has brought us a great response to Rap Point 1.

Jemima the cat gave us a wonderful feel for her experiences through the words of 5/6 Colyton rappers. I liked your twist about needing a shoe shop in the opening paragraph! Your idea made me scurry off to take a closer look at the pictures in the real book. I also liked the way Jemima helped us understand Millie’s feelings and her surprise when she ‘danced so well’.  Your response made great reading 5/6 rappers!

There is still plenty of time for other rappers to work on Rap Point 1 – remember we’d rather read your quality response, the result of lots of thinking and re-drafting,  than have you rush something through quickly.  Keep working on those recounts and send your best efforts, when you are pleased with your work.

I’ll send Rap Point 2 in another message, and we look forward to reading your responses.

Happy rapping,

Mrs Chapman
