A Day In My Life
Yesterday morning
I woke up on the verandah and walked over to my bush
and piddle on it once again. I had a big yawn and I
walked back over to the verandah and waited until
George came out with hi big lettuce and ham sandwich
for breakfast. I stole half of his sandwich for my
breakfast.
When Bill came out to start work I had a stretch and
jumped on the back of the ute. George and bill jumped
in the ute and drove over to the hay shed. I jumped
off and went looking for mice between the hay bales. I
saw a rat and bolted after it but it was to dark and I
smacked into the steel wall. Bill whistled to me so I
ran out and jumped on the ute again to go and feed the
sheep. We got out to the paddock gate, George hopped
out and opened the gate. Bill drove through and than
waited until George closed the gate so the sheep
wouldn’t run out. George hopped on the back with me
and than we drove over to the mob. George started to
throw the hay bale off, I was staring at the sheep
looking out for sick ones. I saw an old ewe in labor
so I barked and ran over to her. Bill drove over, put
her on the back and took her back to the house.
Bill carried her into the shed and laid her on the
ground where it was quieter. We went out to look at
the cattle. They had crossed the creek so we went back
to the stables and got the horses, George and Bill
saddled them up then they went to muster the cattle
back across the creek. We got them over but Bill found
a dead cow and he wasn’t very impressed with it ether.
I saw Buster sniffing the dead cow, I was wondering
where Buster had come from. Anita must have let him
off, I never really liked buster he always try’s to
pick a fight with me, but I always just walked away.
We went back to the house because we had finished work
for the day. We got home and than George waited on the
verandah until Rick got here. Rick was taking a long
time to get here, than I saw a little old punch buggy
coming down the road. I couldn’t tell what colour it
was cause I was colour blind. I barked at and than I
relised that George had fallen asleep on the verandah.
Woke him up when l barked. The little old punch buggy
pulled up in the yard Rick and uncle hopped out.
George got up and walked over to Rick and asked if he
wanted to go for a swim in the creek, Rick loved
swimming in the creek. Rick’s uncle carried his bags
into the house Rick and George went and jumped on the
motorbikes and rode down to the creek. They parked the
bikes under the big Willow tree. They ran and jumped
into the nice cool creek. I tried to climb a tree but
fell out into the deep part of the creek;. It was a
nice relaxing time in the creek.
Rick and George rode home and went inside than I went
to sleep on the verandah.
