Introducing Matt Smith....
Hi this is Matt Smith from the Australian Men's Hockey Team. I have been a member of the team since 1994 and have been playing the sport since I was six years old, I grew up in Tamworth NSW where I went to primary school at West Tamworth and did my senior years at Farrer Ag College.
Just to let you know about our preparation for the games we have been in Germany playing two games against Germany where we had some very good results. You can go to hockey Australia's website at www.hockeyaustralia.org.au for more up to date information. We arrived in the Village last night around midnight, and we had our first training session today, which was pretty miserable, as the rain didn't let off for us.
Our first match will be against New Zealand on Saturday, which will allow us to go to the Opening Ceremony, which the girl's team may have to miss as they play the next day. Well its time to go and have some dinner in the food hall which has every type of food that you could imagine. Its a good thing that we are exercising as it would be quite easy to put on the weight.
