Comments from Kerryn McCann (Gold Medalist - Womens Marathon).....

Unfortunately I didn't get to the Opening Ceremony because I was competing two days after and it is a bit tiring standing around etc.

I raced last Sunday in the Marathon and finished with a Gold Medal and felt
really relaxed and good. I have recovered quite well and my legs are feeling
good although a little tired, understandably.

The course was really interesting, we ran around all the sites of the city
of Manchester, so it seemed to go very quickly. I like an interesting course
because it makes the time go faster.

After my race we were all quite busy with media interviews, but I like to
eat some junk food and go shopping, then afterwards I went to support
all the other athletes in their events.

Everything in the Village is free. The weather has been great. It has been
cool and overcast in the mornings and sunny around lunchtime which is
perfect for us, running the marathon.

Thanks for your support.
Kerryn McCann
