commonwealthgames_rap Jason Cram - swimming

Comments from Jason Cram......

Hi, how are you all?

We start racing tomorrow and the team is all really excited. For me it is really starting to hit home as to what I am a part of. The village over here is unreal. There is so many different athletes over here and some from countries that I haven't even heard of.

>From what I have seen, Manchester is an old town with the village and venues heavily secured areas. There are two dining halls which are huge, they are both open 24hrs. The village is in a university and each team is located in campus rooms. Our rooms are the up market ones, quite larger that we first thought and we are the closest to the food!

The is a huge games room full of xbox consoles, but most of the time athletes from developing countries that have never seen them before live on them. There are computers everywhere. In the Aussie camp people are online all the time.

I can't wait to start racing! The pool looks and feels really good. The downside though is that to get around the pool, from one end to the other is quite a mission. We have to walk up and down 128 steps each time we want to get to the other end, so there aren't too many happy people about, although the upside is that we will be a lot fitter for it.

I shaved down tonight and am really looking forward to having some more fun, and getting up and racing! The team seems quite fired up and have really gotten along so well, in some cases to well, and are ready for a big meet. It has been an absolute blast and I have received so many hero faxes and letters from different people. We all take turns to sort through the piles of stuff that we have got.

I am too tired to write much more so take care of yourselves and I'll chat to you all soon.
Lovin it in Manchester
Jas
