Dear Rappers,
We found many examples of humour in 'Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The
Bus' and 'Egg Drop'. Here are three:
1. The positioning of the reader in 'Don't Let The PIgeon Drive The
Bus' makes you feel part of the story, therefore experiencing the
emotion and humour firsthand. You are more able to laugh at the
pigeon and his behaviour more than you would if you were experiencing
it through a character.
2. The twist at the end. In 'Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus' you
think you are triumphant because you stopped the pigeon driving the
bus, that is, until he finds the truck. In 'Egg Drop', the other eggs
hatch at the end, proving that if the egg had waited he would've
hatched and successfully flown. These twists greatly add to the
humour of the texts.
3. The bold, capitalized text in 'Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the
Bus' (LET ME DRIVE THE BUS!!!) exaggerates the emotions. It expresses
the frustration of the pigeon and makes it funny because the pigeon
has gone completely crazy. It is kind of shocking but at the same
time funny.
Hope you enjoy our ideas as much as we are enjoying the rap.
Cheers,
