eggsactly07_rap Rap Point 1

Dear Rappers,
We chose to look at "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus". Humour is
portrayed visually in the following ways. We have come up with a few more
than 3!!

The facial expressions of the pigeon are very funny. Mo's illustrations
are so simple yet so effective. Just by changing the position of the
eyeball and adding some lines he creates a brand new expression.

We also like the way he changes the size of the text to help emphasize the
pigeon's emotions. "LET ME DRIVE THE BUS"

We thought it was clever making the reader part of the story. This makes
you feel really involved.

We also looked at some of Mo's other books and we thought it was funny
that he puts in elements from his other stories. For example, knuffle
bunny is in "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late". The pigeon is also on a
t-shirt in "Knuffle Bunny".

Some people also liked it how the pigeon popped out of the side of pages
when he was being sneaky.

We also compared this story with "Gasp" written by Terry Denton. He uses a
lot of the same ideas as MO. For example, the fish talks to the reader and
he uses increased text size to emphasize emotion.

Looking forward to reading some more responses. Next week we are going to
do some cartoons to share online.
Good-bye for now,
PGS
