We all enjoyed different fairytales, but the one we enjoyed the most in the book was Goldilocks.
We enjoyed the representation and the visual effects because it has an original style, for example when Herb cuts a hole in the paper there is really a hole in the page which makes the book come alive! Also the fonts of the writing and the way it has been represented is fun; for example, the fonts are different sizes and styles and are upside down and oddly positioned, this makes it look fun and reflects the characters and action. The character of Goldilocks has been altered so we perceive her as an unkind spoilt brat!
Goldilocks; is a lot ruder and meaner. She has much more attitude. In the original Goldilocks is a lot more passive, but now she shreaks and yells very aggressively and gets what she deserves. Also Goldilocks is viewed as rude and selfish, instead of innocent, angelic and a victim of the bears' power and alarming appearance. Another point of view on Goldilocks- whether she was really inocent or being arrogant by eating all the 'just right' porrige and breaks the little bears' chair all teh time and breaking into the three bears house all the time.
Another character that has been altered is the fairy godmother. Instead of being kind and understanding she is rude and sexist.
Visual features that represent Goldiocks as arrogant is her big black mouth to make Goldilocks look evil and the bright yellow and blue to make her stand out on the white background when she is screaming. Lauren Child made her really big to make her show that she is 'in your face' and to stand out and seem superior compared to Herb.
The words spin around to show that she creates havock and stirs up most of the trouble and that herb is having a bad dream and the book is now spinning towards the floor.
It was a funny book.
