Cinderella,
Cinderella was waiting for Prince Charming. He was late so
Cinderella's clothes turned back into rags and her coach turned back into a
pumpkin. We liked it because it was funny and unique. There were telephone
stickers on every page which was weird but cool, so characters were able to
call other characters from their own tale to other tales.Some of the
characters had moustaches including females. We could see the sticky tape to
glue a page that was ripped out to stick it back in.
We like the way Childs made her fairy godmother clumsy but in the
traditional fairy tale shes polite and organised and knows everything.
Because Prince Charming is missing it, changes the whole fairy tale. Then
Cinderella can't meet him therefore she cannot marry him.
On the page where Herb cuts the hole he's paralised with fear because he is
so small and vulnerable, and because she is positioned in the centre of the
page she looks powerful and dominating. We thinkthat the page that was
ripped out and stuck back in Herb's speech is upside down because he is not
really meant to be in the story.
We think Childs believes that if you change the origanal story everything
will completly change and you won't know the effects of what you did.
