fairytales05_rap Book Rap 1

Richmond River High 8.2 English

Hi rappers,
We enjoyed reading 'The Big Bad Book' and looking at its crazy graphics. Our favourite fairytale was Cinderella. We liked it because the scene at the ball was unusual. The thrown was cut out and used for Herb's rocket ship. We also liked that the prince didn't turn up for the ball. Herb had used the picture for his Mum's birthday card. It was also humorous to see the Queen with a moustache.

There were many changes in this version of Cinderella. Cinderella never met the Prince because he was missing. There were no evil step-sisters in the story. There were giant crumbs all over the floor. There was no word of her glass shoe, golden dress or carriage.

The Big Bad Book pictured Cinderella as an angry girl. She is more pale and angry, than we expected. The writing was all over the place. Fun but difficult to read. The evil step mother has an evil appearance with lots of straight lines to indicate how scary and angry she appears. Her straight features makes her tall and intimidating.

The author changed the fairytale so he could surprise or amuse the reader. It was different.
