Rap point 2
“Shrek”
G’day, this Ben and my mate Brad from Parramatta High giving our response to Rap Point 2 on the film “Shrek”.
The film is different to other traditional fairytales and what we would expect. Like at the start of the movie it looked like a normal, traditional fairytale until he ripped out the page of the book and said “Yeah, like that’s ever gonna’ happen.”
The composer of the film has portrayed Shrek as a contrast to Prince Charming. Normally the prince is clean, charming, rich and handsome. But Shrek is the complete opposite of what the prince is. Shrek’s lifestyle is nothing like Prince Charming. We see close ups of Shrek doing revolting things such as when he farts in the lake. Shrek lives in a swamp and still he is the hero who gets the girl in the end of the film. This has the effect of making it a funny film.
As an audience we respond to the film with humour. For example, when Shrek used the page from the fairytale as toilet paper.
