Surfers at Moruya
Our expectations of this film are challenged by the
fact that we expect pretty drawings, Disney style
heroic animations, and orchestral music which is
dramatic and classical. But we get ripped and
scrunched up drawings, rock music and a toilet
flushing this idea away.
The traditional hero is strong, fair haired, tall,
deep-voiced, wears a tunic, has a shield, sword,
horse, shining armour and lives in a castle.
But we get a big and fat green ogre that lives in a
tree stump in a swamp, wears tatty clothes and has a
loud mouthed donkey to help him.
However, an ogre is meant to eat people and be scary,
but Shrek is not. He has a soft voice and is gentle
when no one is trying to harm him. The editors made
us laugh at Shrek and the donkey at their silly sounds
and noises that we did not expect.
The donkey is the best character because he has the
ability to annoy Shrek with every thing the donkey
does. The donkey is very funny but Shrek never acts
like a ogre towards him.
