fairytales05_rap 'Rap Point 2' shrek! from the hotties!

Hey its us, The HOtTiEs and we really enjoyed ‘Shrek’.

Part A:

Our assumption of this film is that it is going to be a traditional fairytale and then that idea is twisted around by shrek ripping out the page of the fairytale book.

The first time we watched the film the book gave us the idea that it was going to be a handsome prince, gorgeous princess and a ‘happily ever after ending’, not an ugly smelly ogre.

Part B:

Shrek is a very dirty creature we can see this because he is an ogre, he is fat and has weird shaped ears. His teeth are brown and rotten, plus he always wears the same clothes and is quite hairy.

His voice is Mike Meyers and his accent suits his character because it is very rough and has a lot of slang. This speech fits in with the environment that he lives in. The music at the start is a music box sound and it is very romantic. When he rips the page from the book the music changes and becomes lively. ‘All Star’ (the lively song) Shows that you can do whatever you want.

Shrek is a scary looking ogre so people are scared of him. When ever someone sees him they scream of run away.

Shrek’s home is an old tree stump and is made from the old roots of a tree. It is messy, dirty and old and dimly lit. He lives in a swamp which is a very dirty place.

Part C:

There is a lot of Visual and Verbal humour in this movie.

E.g. (Visual Humour) When shrek farts in the lake and kills the fish, he wants to put you off watching the movie but at the same time he makes you want to watch more.

(Verbal humour) The music describes and says what we all think about Shrek. ‘Finger and thumb in the shape of an L on your forehead’. The L on your forehead means that Shrek is a Loser and we all think that too. It also gives the idea that he is a loner and wants to be left alone. He also has a good personality, but then no one wants to be friends with him. We think Shrek wants to have friends, but we surpose he has just grown up with out friends.
