flytrap06_rap Rap Coordinator's welcome and Introductory message

Dear Rappers,

Welcome to the Flytrap rap. I work from the School Libraries Unit at Ryde and I will be your coordinator for this rap.

I would like to start by showing my respect. I would like to Acknowledge the Kuringai people, who are the Traditional Custodians of this Land. I would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present of the Kuringai Nation, and extend that respect to Aboriginals taking part in this rap.

I look forward to meeting you through this rap and sharing our discoveries about the book, and learning more about Aboriginal culture.

As soon as you can this week, construct a class group introduction and send it and all other class messages to this email address:

flytrap06_rap@list.schools.nsw.edu.au

It helps if our subject lines are clear, so please type ‘Introducing…’ with your class or school name in the subject line. Remember to include your class name in your signature in the email and have your rap maps ready to record where other rappers live as they introduce themselves. Including an Acknowledgment of Country will help us respect the Traditional and learn more about Custodians from our different areas.

Congratulations to S3W from Hebersham Public School for their informative introductory message.

Teachers, if you have not already done so, it would be a good idea to subscribe to the teacher rap as well.

We look to hearing from our fellow rappers during this rap.

Happy rapping everyone!

Colleen Foley
