Dear Flytrap Rappers,
Our group thinks a “Tall Tale” is a white lie made up by a person. It can also try to get someone out of trouble. If you tell someone a tall tale and that person finds out, you will get in deep trouble and that person might not treat you well; and he or she might get revenge. For example Nancy told a lie to her teacher that she had a flytrap at her home.
The deeper message from the tall tale is that you will get in more trouble and it will keep on getting worse until you tell the truth to the person. For example: Nancy told a tall tale to her teacher and ended being found out and disappointing her teacher.
Another example of a deeper message is that you better tell the truth, rather then telling a tall tale. For example Nancy’s Mum was giving lots of excuses to get Nancy out of trouble but in the end she told her to tell the truth.
From Avi and Teg @ Caddies Creek P.S, Class 5M.
