getactive06_rap introduction Parkerville

Dear Rappers

We are a Year 6/7 class in Parkerville Primary School which is in the hills surrounding Perth, Western Australia about 1 hour from Perth city centre. Parkerville was established to support the railway that runs from Perth over to the eastern states. A famous water pipeline to Kalgoorlie also runs nearby. We are looking forward to going to Kalgoorlie on camp next term. Timber and building stone were also important in Parkerville's early days.

Parkerville School has about 290 students and is hidden in the trees and we are lucky to have lots of beautiful native animals. We don't have any Ibis but we do get lots of magpies and parrots we call 28's. Sometimes we even get kangaroos and emus on the school oval. Room 8 is a mixed year 6/7 class and we have 31 students.

We have been researching the different Commonwealth countries and have learnt that they were all once ruled by Britain and many are tiny islands. We are looking forward to seeing the different techniques used in the sports and getting exicited by who wins.

Looking forward to sharing the rap points with everyone.

Bye for now
