This week we researched and discussed some facts about the Commonwealth Games.We worked in pairs to find information on the internet. Each pair looked at either the Games or Sports. Pairs had to find four interesting facts to share with the class.
After we made a list of our facts we then voted for our favourites-two for the Games and two for the Sports. These are our favourites:
Games:
- Since 1932 Australia has won 1684 medals.
- Norfolk Island has only won one Bronze medal which was in Lawn Bowls.
Sports:
- In Badminton males need to score 15 points to win, while Females need to score only 11 points to win!
- Did you know that hockey was originally played using a cricket ball?
