Wow, all the Rappers info on the Commonwealth Games has been fantastic!!!

There is so much we have learnt about the Commonwealth Games.

Isn't it Great how there is sooooo much information that even when a class talks about the same subject, there is usually different topics covered.

FACT 1:

             The official mascot for the Melbourne Games is Karak.

He Is a South-Eastern Red Tailed Black Cockatoo.

He is an endangered species.

He is cheeky and loves eating stringy bark seeds.

FACT 2:

             The baton was designed by an Australian.

It contains 2 tiny cameras, a microphone and a note.

It has taken 1 year and a day to reach Melbourne.

When the message is read the games will begin.

 

FACT 3:

             There are 16 sports in the Commonwealth Games and 71 nations are competing.

The 1^st games were held in 1930 and only 11 nations competed then.

FACT 4:

             Health and Vitality is the theme for this year’s Commonwealth Games.

Sadly many nations in the Commonwealth have poor living conditions.
