Weren’t the Commonwealth Games exciting!!!! 5R have been very busy working on Rap Point 3. As a class we discussed the meanings of Active, Physical and Physically active. Here are our definitions:
Active – using your body’s energy to move, keep fit and stay healthy.
Physical – to do with the body.
Physically Active – using energy to move your body, helping to keep your body fit and healthy.

We then discussed why it is important to be active in small groups and
here are our findings.
CCFC (Caddies Creek Fitness Club) – One of teachers Mr Moyes runs a fitness club on Mondays for kids to improve their fitness. We all love it.
PSSA Sport – Our school participates in PSSA Sport where children from Years 3 to 6 compete against other schools. Our school has developed a fine reputation for being good sports.
Walking Club – This year our teachers have started their walking club. It is very social and we see them moving quickly through our community.
And lastly we discussed why it is important to be active and here are our findings?
To reduce the number of overweight children in society.
To lower the obesity rate
To continue to
introduce healthy eating programs, like Munch n Crunch
Health Benefits – better circulation and breathing
To have fun and develop friendships with team mates
To develop a sense of play and teach tolerance - Sportsmanship
To develop a sense of respect and admiration
To encourage participation and cooperation between team mates
