getactive06_rap parkerville rap pt 3

Dear Rappers,

We have been discussing about the attributes of an elite athlete, some of the attributes we discussed are:

  • Positive attitude
  • Brave
  • Courageous
  • Confident
  • Competitive
  • Organised
  • Enthusiastic
  • Hard Working
  • Dedicated
  • Determined
  • Able to set goals
  • Persistent
  • Cooperative
  • Good sport
  • Supportive

We are going to listen to some interviews of elite athletes from the "Commonwealth Games".

We have also been learning about EAD and the technology of the games, in the sports wear.

EAD stands for Elite Athletes with a Disability.

In the early 1900's dresses and long clothes were worn for swimming.

In the mid 1900's the swimming gear got shorter.

In the 2000's, the swimming gear went back to covering the whole body but instead of them being baggy, they were very tight on the body to make it more streamlined in the water.
