hans05_rap Rap Point 3: Coordinators Message



Dear Rappers,

How clever you all are!!!! It was so wonderful to read your amazing responses

to Rap Point 2. We were so impressed at the way you all identified the

messages that Hans Christian Andersen expressed in his fairytales. It

would seem that you all agree that these messages are relevant to us all

in the Year 2005. Isn't it wonderful how literature can teach us many

important lessons that we can take with us on our journeys through life.

It is now time to move on to Rap Point 3.

Week 7: Week Beginning 6th June 2005

After examining the text, 'The Great Sea-Serpent' , respond to the

following question:

How does Hans Christian Andersen identify with his audience and how

does he use language to do this?

We are certain you will really enjoy reading 'The Great Sea-Serpent'. It is

a wonderful story with such rich language. Work with your fellow rappers to

identify this rich, descriptive language and use it to describe some of the

characters in the story. We suggest you describe the characters' personalities

as well as their physical features.
