Dear Rappers,

 

We have read The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen and it taught it that you should no bully and be mean to people just because they seem different to you.

 

In The Ugly Duckling lots of animals are mean to the ugly duckling because he is different.  Some people today are mean to others because they are different.  In The Ugly Duckling Hans Christian Andersen is sending the message that you should not be mean to and bully people that look different.

 

Lots of the animals are mean to the ugly duckling and are scared of him because of the way he looks - they judge him by his outside.  The message that Hans Christian Andersen is sending is is not to judge people by what they look like on the outside - it is what that is inside a person that is important.

 

These social messages contained in the story of The Ugly Duckling are still relevant today because some people are still mean to other people that look different than they do.
