harryp3_rap Welcome to the rap and Rap Point 1

Hello Rappers and welcome again to the splendiferous
and delightful Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Rap,
My name is Mr Bowie and I teach at Dulwich High in
inner-city Sydney. I'll be co-ordinating this
excellent rap with Mrs Scheffers from Marayong Public
school in western Sydney.
We would like to welcome you all again: S3m at Penrith
who will certainly make new friends in this rap; the
Scary Secret Society of Witches at Bankstown Girl's
High; those lucky rappers at Woolgoolgah-that missing
piece of Paradise; the ravenous readers circle from
Our Lady of the Rosary at Kellyville; the Models and
Aaron from surfing Woonona; The Dementors at Lourdes
Hill College in sunny Brisbane where the weather is
magic-a bit like Woolgoolgah; and the Fearsome
Fivesome from The King's School at Parramatta where
chess equals sport. Of course Quidditch is far beyond
chess in the sporting field, isn't that true Rappers?
Now that the introductions are done it is time for
your very first Rap Point. Here is RAP POINT 1.
(and not before time!)
Rap Point 1
Task:
Ron's father, Mr Weasley, works for the Ministry of
Magic, in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. His
job is to investigate things that are Muggle-made and
have been bewitched, for example, the tea set
described on pages 28 and 29; shrinking door keys, or
a biting kettle. Mr Weasley himself owns a flying car!
Work in groups and use Rap sheet 1 to record examples
of Muggle-made items and what you think they might do
if they were bewitched.
Imagine you are an employee in Mr Weasley's
department. Write a report on a bewitched Muggle-made
item you have investigated. Rap sheet 2 may help you
to plan your report.
Send your report to the rap.
You may also like to illustrate your Muggle-made item.
Your teacher could select a few of these illustrations
to send to the rap gallery.
As with all of your class emails, please post your
responses to this rap point to:
harryp3_rap@list.schools.nsw.edu.au
We look forward eagerly to your responses.
Happy Rapping!
Mr Bowie (Rap Co-ordinator)
