Title: Message
An investigative report from Willyama HS was incorrect. Following is the full report. My apologies to Willyama for the error.

Ministry of Magic

Investigative Reports

Investigated item:

Kettle

Item location:

679 Phantom Drive, Macktonville Shire

Kettle usually kept in kitchen directly under the stove.

Current owner:

Mr & Mrs Smartson (Gerry & Prudence)

Wedding gift 38 years ago

Description of item:

·        one antique caste iron kettle

·        valued previously at $4870 now $5400

·        operates on stove top.

Current Problem:

The old couple reports that every time in the past two years that the Smartsons have put on the kettle when they have guests, the kettle produces strange outcomes.  Water is put into the kettle and when it is boiled another substance comes out.  For example, curried tulip puree or tomato and egg soup - stone cold.

The owners are very sentimental about the kettle due to its value and position as a gift

however, the couple are not opposed to the idea of selling the product due to the frustration it has caused.  As long as an acceptable price is met the couple will sell, but if it is not met the couple will not sell due to the value of the antique.

Evaluation:

After a thorough investigation was completed it was determined that the kettle was originally owned by Dartanyne MacMarthers a wizard from Mount Faran.  Mr. MacMarthers apparently cursed the object after he was expelled from Beauxbatons Wizardry School.  The kettle was bewitched to disappoint its owners every time they were serving guests.

Recommendation:

Approach Mr. & Mrs. Smartson suggesting you’re an antiques dealer.  They are already willing to sell the item.  Furthermore it is a suggestion of the Ministry to then donate the kettle to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as it is closest to the house and the students can study it in Potions or a similar subject.
