Our class 5B made up a list of betwitched games. From this list of six
games, we selected ‘Under Water Lifesaving Soccer.’WE hope you enjoy reading
our ideas.
HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED:
There are 14 teams in the competition; 2 play at a time. Spectators sit in
stands, around the outside of the glass tank. The game is very similar to
Muggle soccer, but is played underwater.
Equipment:
Players wear specially designed swimsuits, which are in various team
colours, with the house emblems embroidered on them. Players also wear metal
spiked shoes. A metal soccer ball, with retractable metal spikes is used.
Players have a special spell cast upon them at the start of the match. This
enables them to remain in an upright position and to breathe underwater. Two
metal goal posts are required.
There are no set player positions, except for a goalie. The team captain is
responsible for organising the players on the field.
Scoring system:
1 goal = 100 points
The winner is the first team to reach 500 points (5 goals) .
Penalties:
No physical contact with another player is permitted. The referee will put a
"statue spell” on any offenders. The 2 referees keep control of the game .
