To rappers,
this is the answers to rap point 2.
Answer 1:
Henry Lawson, we believe does have an agenda for choosing these particular
settings, as he grew up on the goldfields of Grenfell in N.S.W. Also we
believe this because of his mother who was a very independent women had a
great influence over his life. This is displayed in "The drovers Wife" as
the drover's wife is a very independent women just like his mother.
Answer 2:
Henry Lawson experianced the bush in many differrant ways. he experienced
the bush on the gold fields as a young child, end when he was older, first
hand travelling around the countryside, writing for various newspapers. Also
the spent time as a painter during a brutal drought, he realised the
harshness of the bush life, which is reflected upon his stories.
Answer 3: Is his writing from personal or 2nd hand experience?
Henry Lawson writes from both personal and 2nd hand experience in such a way
that he is not exactly telling his life story, but he is not exactly telling
his life story, but he has incorporated parts of his life into his stories.
For example in "Joe Wilson's Courtship" Mr black frelects upon his country
days, which we beleive reflects upon henry lawson's Country Days which he
believes were the best days of his life.
Answer 4: Do the composer's feelings about the subject matter come through
clearly?
As the responder we can easily visualise the scene, plot and subject
clearly. Henry Lawson uses, clear and well thought out descriptions of
characters, understandable colloquial language and australian context which
is still relevant to some readers today.
