In the narrative the Drovrs Wife Henry uses flashbacks.So that the story is written in the present and looks back at the past.An example of this style is where the Drovers Wife remembers, a little son of her brother-in-law was bitten by a snake,and died.This is an example of one of many flashbacks Henry uses.Today many movies and Tv shows use flashbacks to remeber past events.The childrens show 'the Simpsons" uses them to remeber significant events including homer and marges courting,marrage,first child,childs first word etc..
