Hello rappers!!!

It has been great to hear what everyone thought about Jeffrey. I knew you would all think he was just the cutest dog. You all seem to have enjoyed reading the book and talking about road safety as well. You came up with some good messages for everybody to think about.

Make sure you tell your family all about the important things you have learned.

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) and the police strongly recommend that all dogs are harnessed in a special pet seatbelt or placed in a safe travel cage when traveling in vehicles. This is safer for the dog, the driver and passengers in cars if the car is involved in an accident. If the dogs are in the back of a ute they need to be tied up. How many of you have ever seen dogs travelling in the back of a worker’s ute? I bet lots of you have seen this. Hopefully all of those dogs were tied up. I wonder how many of you have these special seat belts or travel cages for your dogs? Maybe you could let us know.

I bet most dogs would get used to wearing a seatbelt especially if this was going to be a safe way to travel with you. You can buy dog seatbelts from pet shops and some department stores.

Keep up the good work. Enjoy working on Rap point 2
