(a) The 'kids' in K1N thought that "Jeffrey"was an awesome book. We laughed at Jeffrey's imagination because he guessed the animals as mixed-up creatures. We liked the road safety messages and we were pleased Jeffrey got to go to the farm.
(b) If we were Jeffrey we would feel very sad and lonely whenever the family was away. If we were Jeffrey we would feel happy because we got to go in the car with our special seat belt that the parents bought. Now we would be able to go on lots of family trips and see lots of new things.
(c) Our class thinks that "Jeffrey" was written to help children learn about road safety. Some of the messages that we learnt from the book are:
always wear a bright helmet when you ride a bike or a skateboard or roller blades or roller skates, or even a scooter
remember to look both ways before you cross the road
always wear a seatbelt .... even on short trips
dogs should wear a harness when they go in cars
sit up straight when you travel in a bus
hold a grown-ups hand when you cross the road or walk on the footpath, or when you're in a car park
