Hi fellow Rappers
This week 5T have been busy answering Rap Point 1.
(1a) Our class definition of “imagination” is using ideas to create mental
pictures, influenced by your way of looking at life. We worked in pairs then
in small groups to brainstorm keywords to describe imagination. Then we
found a dictionary definition for “imagination”. Finally we came together as
a class to discuss and share our definitions.
(1b) Once again, we worked in small groups to discuss how Luke’s way of
looking differed from that of his class mates and Mr Barraclough.
Luke’s way of looking is exciting, different, bright and colourful. His
classmates’ artwork was lifeless, ordinary and plain. They lacked the bright
colours and imagination that we saw in Luke’s art work.
Mr Barraclough’s view of the world is the opposite to Luke’s. He sees things
in a very ordinary, strict and uninteresting way. He sees things exactly as
they are.
(1C) For the third time, we worked in small groups to brainstorm keywords of
how Mr Barraclough reacted to Luke’s art work. Then our class came together
and shared our ideas.
Mr Barraclough’s initial reaction to Luke’s artwork was furious. He was
appalled with Luke’s artwork. Our class found quotes from the text that
showed Mr Barraclough’s terrifying reaction. Here are just a few:
”He went ballistic”.
“He screamed at Luke”.
After looking at the text, we discovered some illustrations that showed Mr
Barraclough’s anger. You can see Mr Barraclough’s shadow towering over Luke.
5T thinks that Nadia and Matt have combined their work superbly to
communicate Mr’s Barraclough intial reaction to Luke’s artwork.
Happy rapping! ;-)
