This is 8 English Brown from Hay War Memorial High School and this is our
response to Rap Point 3.
a) At the beginning Luke was obviously different to the others in his
class. When Luke goes into the Art museum he realises that there are others
who think and see like him. He found confidence and a new sense of
self-esteem when he realised he was not alone in his way of seeing. The next
time Luke paints he tackles it with passion, pride and enjoyment and he is
very pleased with his work.
b) Mr Barraclough learnt to understand Luke by the end of the story. He had
more respect for Luke. Under Luke’s influence, Mr Barraclough was
transformed from having the image of bad tempered monster to a more angelic
image. Luke’s character development brought colour to the class. In the
beginning of the book they were presented in black and white but at the end
it was colour.
