G’day rappers
We have just finished discussing Rap Point 3. Luke’s character developed in
several ways after he visited the Art Gallery.
Luke is now much happier because he’s seen other people’s artwork and
realizes that there are other people who see things in the same way as he
does. Mr. Barraclough is becoming more understanding towards Luke’s artwork
and is speechless. Luke’s classmates may be feeling happier because Mr.
Barraclough is no longer yelling and angry with Luke.
Luke is also now more self-confident as shown by Luke stepping into the
watermelon. Mr Barraclough is now coming around to Luke’s way of looking,
as symbolized by the merging of Luke’s and Mr. Barraclough’s shadows (on the
last page). His classmates might gain their own self-confidence to be
creative.
Another change in Luke’s character is he’s now free to be even more creative
as shown by his large-scale painting of the watermelon. Mr. Barraclough
becomes friendlier towards Luke and more accepting of his artwork. His
classmates may feel relieved because they feel free to be creative
themselves. They may follow in Luke’s footsteps! They might even feel
jealous because Luke’s so free to be very creative.
That’s all for this week. We look forward to our Rap Wrap Up next week.
